Beta Fish Diseases and Water Temperature

Since maintaining water temperature in a tank is not that easy and is a must, having aquarium heaters would be very helpful for your fish. This is because once your Betta gets stressed over some time, its immune system weakens and thus it would be prone to being infected with betta fish disease.

Betta fish disease normally attacks your fish when they have been used to living in water with the heat of 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. If you notice your fish becoming weak and unresponsive, that means that the water temperature is way above or way below the required temperature. With a large tank, the more would you need to maintain such temperature.

To avoid Betta fish disease, you have to take note that temperature should be properly monitored and maintained in your fish’s tank. Extreme changes in temperature would not be acceptable for them too. You have to look at it closely that there should only be slight temperature changes, otherwise, your fish would be caught with a betta fish disease.

Heat temperature is measured in watts. To protect your fish from betta fish disease, it is advisable for you to choose the best aquarium heater and should be at 5 watts per gallon of water. The heater should fit your tank and should also be properly inserted if it is an internal one. Once you have an aquarium heater, maintaining water temperature will be easier and this can help your fish survive without being infected with any Betta fish disease, otherwise, fish disease may consume all your fishes in your fish tank.
