Betta Fish Care and Diseases



It is not hard to spot a Betta fish. They have long flowing fins accompanied by brilliant colors, this is one of the reasons they are so popular.

There colors range for dark to light blue, pail to dark reds, snow white and every color in-between in the rainbow. Along with brilliant color the females usually will have some type of horizontal stripes.
As true with other species, sadly for the female will not be a brilliant as the mail friends, her colors will seem to have a faded look. Along with that her fins will be noticeable shorter.

Betta fish are not only very nice to look at because of their whimsical tails but they also show a warmth towards there keeper. Some can even be distinguished by their unique personalities, all great factors of a prized fish.

The true die hard betta lovers declare that betta fish have distinctive character traits. That they can communicate their feelings, needs and wants to their owner. For example, mine will swim in curricles when I walk up to his bowel, I wonder if that means I drive him crazy, never thought about it like that.
Not to mention that this is a great fish for adult, but for just as well ideal for kids. I got my daughter one for her birthday and I must say smart choice. Betta fish have a high degree of interactivity with their owners. Their personality seems to come out the more you are around them. It’s also not hard to for kids to master the steps in to withes to take care of them. The only help needed would be when it come to tank cleaning time, other than that it’s pretty hand off for parents.



Here are some basic stats of a betta fish.

Adult Size: 3 inches (7 cm) around there and they live about 2-3 years.

Socialization of a betta; as we all know there nick name is “chine’s fighting fish”. This implies to the fact that they do not get along with other mail fish, but they do love there females. Stress is not a good thing for your betta, they do not react well to it. If they endure prolonged stress they may become physically sick and be more prone to diseases.

The minimum tank size for your new fish should not be less than 3 gallons. I know what you are thinking, but what about the cute ones you see in store in flower vases? Not to mention that this is too small, but it’s also very cruel to the fish. In those types of condition it is very difficult to maintain the right water temp, and there is little to no room for them to swim around, so please for the sake of the fish don’t go that route.
Betta fish are known as top dwellers, this means that they like to be at the top of the water most of the time in their active state. This is cool for kids because they get an up-close look at them right at the surface. And the most impotent ingredient to them is fresh, fresh water that is.

Now you need to know more like optimum pH level, water hardness, water temp, diet, and how to care for them if and when they get sick and breeding if you chose too.
